Dear Classical Wisdom Kids,
Some figures from the ancient world - whether historical or mythological - will need much less time than others to understand.
For many that is because we just don’t have that much information about them. Their works and ideas did not survive the ravages of time... their manuscripts weren’t copied or people just lost interest in their work… until their work was lost.
Others simply did not add as much to the “Great Conversation”, they were “one hit wonders” of the ancient world, with only a bit part to play in this great effort called civilization.
Aristotle falls into neither category.
His inputs are so critical, that no one ever doubted whether his works should be copied... and yet according to ancient sources, Aristotle wrote around 150 philosophical treatises... but only about 30 of these have survived in their entirety!
Nonetheless, one could easily dedicate a lifetime to understanding his ideas and their impact throughout the ages.
Unfortunately we have too many amazing people (both real and maybe? not real) to discuss and discover! Indeed, one of the ideas we have here at Classical KIDS is to take the time to introduce many, many different people and ideas and works to your kiddos to see what interests and inspires them!
Think of it as an ancient buffet... sample a lot and then if you like it, go back for seconds!
With all that in mind, we will conclude our small introduction to Aristotle with today’s review... Of course, he will appear many, many times in the future (I can’t wait to do a whole geological issue! As well as logic... poetics...rhetoric...politics! There are too many!) but we will at least temporarily move on.
But before we do, take a moment to go over the life and lessons of Aristotle below. Members: Make sure to try out the games and let us know what you think…
All the best,

Aristotle Review
Who Was Aristotle?
Dear Classical Wisdom Kids, First, a quick clarification. I’ve had a few readers write in a bit confused to what belongs to what in the growing world of Classical Wisdom. Fair dinkum as they say ‘Down Under’. About a year ago we launched Classical Wisdom KIDS, to help bring ancient wisdom to future minds. The thing is a lot of the ideas, history and conc…

What is Friendship?
Hello! This week’s lesson is a very important lesson, indeed. While art, mythology, science and history are wonderful for teaching us so many interesting lessons, friendship is critical to our happiness... And yet... we rarely think about what friendship is, what makes a good friend and equally important, how we can be better friends ourselves!

What is a Citizen?
Dear Classical Wisdom Kids, Today in the United States is the ‘off year’ election. It is when Americans head to the polls to vote on all sorts of important - though not always headline grabbing - positions in the US government. It’s stuff like the House of Representatives, Attorney General, State Treasurers and various referendums.
