Postcard Responses from Owly Postcard in Barcelona
Dear Classical Wisdom KIDS,
We are so happy to report that Classical Wisdom Kids is back! We are on the road again and ready to report on the cool, the historical, as well as the random...Mosaics, hamsters, peacocks and more!
Just in case you missed our recent Owly video from Barcelona, you can watch it here:
Owly is Back! Back on the Road...
Hi! Sorry we haven’t written for such a long time. Good news is that we are back on the road and before we left I got a hamster. Our friends are taking care of her now that we are away... but can you guess her name? Can you draw a picture of what you think she looks like? Do you have any pets? What’s your favorite animal?
We’ve had a fairly hectic travel schedule the last few weeks, but now we are catching up. (I promise! Or at least... I hope?) In fact, Frida received some fantastic letters from the Classical Wisdom Kids community, to which she has responded below… and kids took up her challenge to draw her hamster, you can see their excellent illustrations! Please note: Hamster drawings are placed randomly throughout and not connected to the author.
Frida’s working hard on the next Owly video now (many of you guessed from where) as well as some super cool related games. In the meantime, please enjoy today’s mailbag and feel free to send in your own questions for Frida and Owly or comment below.
All the best,

Hello Frida & Owly,
Yes, I have one dog (Sissy) and one cat (Summer). I usually call Summer MeMe. My favorite animal is the bunny. I don’t know where your triangles are, but I can’t wait to find out!
Your friend,
Peanut :D (age 7)
Frida: Hi Peanut, I also like bunnies! I love the names Sissy and Summer, that would be what I'd call my cat or dog. And my hamster’s name is Peanut too!
Hi Frida and Owly,
How are you doing in Spain? I have a pet dog named Bane. He is an Alaskan Malamute. I think you are going to Egypt!!
Have fun,
Pumpkin (age 6)
Frida: Hi Pumpkin, We are going to Egypt! Good guess! And I have never heard of an Alaskan Malamute, what do they look like? Have fun in California!
Hi Frida & Owly,
I have no animals. My favorite animal is a lion. I think you are going to Egypt. How old are you?
From Santa Claus (age 8)
Frida: Hi Santa Claus, yeah we are going to Egypt! I like Turkish Angoras and Somalis. (They are types of cats.) I am ten years old. What's your favorite type of cat?
Hi Frida & Owly,
Long time no see! I’m glad you are back!! Are there actual iguanas in Spain? Because I LOVE iguanas, and I spotted the iguana in your video. :)
My big brother has so many pets. He has 4 birds, 3 cats, and 2 dogs. I have 1 dog, his name is Bane. I might get another dog and name him Batman.
Have fun,
Gold (age 8)
P.S. I think you are going to Egypt!
Frida: Hi Gold, There are no native iguanas in Spain. The iguana in the video was actually a gigantic statue... and it was very cool! What types of birds/cats/dogs does your brother have? And we are going to Egypt!
Hi Frida & Owly,
I am so happy you have a pet hamster!!!! :)
Rose (age 5)
Frida: Thanks! What is your favorite animal?
Hello Frida & Owly,
I have a dog named Mellow. I don’t know where you are going that has triangles. I want to see.
Sara (age 5)
Frida: Hi Sara, what type of dog do you have? The triangles are the pyramids! The pyramids are like giant man-made mountains in egypt! They were used like tombs for their kings/pharaohs.
Hi Frida & Owly,
Yes, I have pets. I have two dogs, four chickens, two outdoor cats, and three outdoor lizards. My dad accidentally stepped on the baby one (halfway), but it’s still alive and healthy.
My favorite animals are capybaras and tigers. I think tigers eat capybaras.
I think your triangles are in Egypt, and they are pyramids.
Have so much fun!
Staci (age 10)
Frida: Hi Staci, I love capybaras! Did you know that capybaras can hold their breath for five minutes! What type of cats do you have? What are their names? I’m glad your lizard is ok.
Hi Frida,
First - I just want to get out of the way - I have 32 separate hamsters, and one pair of conjoined hamsters.
I think you are going to Japan and seeing Mt. Miwa, Mt. Haku, and Mt. Fugi. I stopped in Japan when I was on my way home from Korea one time.
How do you like always being on a plane? Is it hard doing all of that flying stuff? I can’t do it myself. I get restless after 3 hours.
What are some tricks you use to not be so tired from traveling so much?
Goodbye and have fun,
Montgomery (age 11)
Hi Montgomery,
We are not going to Japan... we are going to Egypt! I have a pair of “cats”... and their tails are connected. That’s why they like doing the monkey bars. Can you tell me the names of your 32 hamsters? I like the picture of your conjoined hamsters. Would you like a picture of my conjoined cat?
