Dear Classical KIDS,
As anyone who has made headway into a language can attest to, practice, practice, practice is the key. You need to carve out the time daily (even if just for a few minutes) to make progress. And while historically people felt that languages like ancient Greek and Latin were dead (what does that even mean?), nowadays there is an exciting movement to bring them back to LIFE.
And how exactly can you do that? Not only by teaching and instilling the next generation the importance of these languages and that vast wisdom that they can unlock, but by SPEAKING them.
That’s right - you need to listen and speak the terms. This helps to reinforce the meanings and activate memorization as well as literally breathing life into the words themselves.
So this week, practice some previous vocabulary by listening and repeating.
Once more, Eugenia Manolidou has graciously provided audios to go with the words - I’ve put the second half below. You can find the first half here:
Simply scan the QR code to have a listen. I’ve also linked the words so you can go to the original posting and there is a printable version at the bottom.
Which was your favorite word to say? Let us know!
All the best,
